As a genuine remanufactured part, the belt tensioner from Mercedes‑Benz is precisely matched to the other engine components and allows for a comfortable ride.
The purpose of the belt tensioner is to keep the poly-V-belts of a belt drive taut. Only when the poly-V-belt is taut can it effectively transfer the torque created by the engine from the crankshaft to the auxiliary assemblies.
A belt tensioner generally comprises a holder affixed to the engine, a clamp with a vibration damper and a guide pulley. The tension of the belt tensioner is usually defined by a spring directed against the pressure of the poly-V-belt.
The belt tensioner is required because the poly-V-belt stretches over time due to the constant tension. This change needs to be offset. In addition, the belt tensioner minimizes vibrations arising from varying rotational movement of the crankshaft, thereby preventing damage to the auxiliary assemblies.
Our remanufacturing process incorporates expertise in the latest series production methods from Mercedes‑Benz. That means that a genuine remanufactured part will offer quality and functionality very close to those of a new spare part. Not only that, but you will also be sparing both the environment and your wallet by using resources smartly and economically.
