The Mercedes‑Benz differential ensures that your truck stays well balanced during cornering. With a genuine remanufactured part, you receive a high standard of quality at an affordable price. Whether you need them for an Actros or an Atego, our remanufactured genuine parts are just a few clicks away.
When you drive your truck around a corner, its wheels cover different distances, with the wheels on the outside traveling further than those on the inside. This results in the wheels rotating at different speeds. The differential's job is to offset this speed difference. One way to explain how the differential works is to imagine a truck with one drive wheel on an icy surface and the other on dry asphalt. Because the smooth surface of the ice offers less resistance, the differential directs all the drive power to this wheel. As a result, this driven wheel on one side spins. The wheel on the asphalt, meanwhile, comes to a halt because the wheel with the least grip determines the drive power. Consequently, torque is highest at low resistance. If this were not the case, the wheels would spin at every corner. On uneven surfaces, a locking differential comes into play as well. This directs the torque back to the wheel that has stopped or is rotating only very slowly.
With the truck differential as a genuine remanufactured part, you receive a spare part from Mercedes‑Benz at a high standard of quality. During remanufacturing, all wear parts are replaced with genuine parts. This ensures that all components function at their best. Remanufacturing used parts helps the environment and saves money, because manufacturing new parts consumes more resources than our remanufacturing process.
